Quilcene 10k

Together with family we walked from Grandma’s house on East Quilcene Bay Road to the Olympic National Forest Service building.

Starting out!

This plan was was hatched and organized by Chris and Liz. The Forest Service building was chosen because that is where Grandma Shirley worked and retired from. Each car that passed, we made sure to wave! The  three little boys did a decent amount of sprinting and walking, making it to the head of the bay before asking for shoulder rides or piggy-backs.

IMG_4706The little boys and Cecile made it all the way to ice cream. They were too tired to continue onto the forest service building but not too tired to play at the playground. Fishy, I think so. 😉  Alicia drove the party bus.

The overcast weather was perfect for this type of event. The ice cream pit stop was also a nice touch, allowing for just enough break to not feel too exhausted. Chris, Liz, Richard, Mike and I completed the full 10k. We closed the day with a feast of Thai cuisine made by Chris and Liz.
