Officially, we have entered into the “terrible twos”. At least, when it comes to chronological age that is. He’s been displaying behavior associated with that for a few months now. Aside from a rather nasty cold over the last week, Q is doing really well. We had his 2 year well baby appointment this past Wed and his doctor was quite pleased with how he is doing and his growth. He measured at 33 1/4 inches tall and 25 pounds. Yes, still on the small side. I can’t imagine where that came from. :p
The last two or three months has also been a word explosion for Q. Suddenly, he’s language has become more clear and he has more words. Some of what has been added are: up, down, door, shoes. He has a specific sound for orange juice, but it doesn’t actually sound like the word. However, to him that’s what it is as every time we have a glass of orange juice he says the phrase. Also recent is that he will mimic actions much more obviously than before, same with animal noises such as a dog barking.
As of current his favorite movie is Pitch Perfect. If you don’t know it, it’s a modern musical about a collage a cappella group. Thus far not a day goes by that we don’t watch part of the movie. Usually he finds it on my ipad. The most fun is watching him sing and dance along with the routines.
Although Q has a full size bed in his room now, he still spends part of the night either with us or one of us in his bed with him. It was helpful for him to have the larger bed as now we all get a little bit better sleep. A quote which applies directly to our family is “Please let me sleep in my own bed tonight, said no toddler ever”. Maybe someday!
